This is why Abe was assassinated, he didn't want this and wanted to restore Japan's population with more reproduction and reinvest in the military.
The only good thing is at a grassroots, this isn't being accepted and even at a regional level administratively, there is heavy resistance to it. This government is going to be forced out and fortunately an anti immigration party, probably a lot more hardline (I'm hoping for Abe mk2) will take over.
I honestly do not understand where this completely unfounded certainty that "everything will be fine!" comes from.
There is no indication that this government will be "forced out" anytime soon and there is no viable anti-immigration party in Japan. They routinely fail to get enough votes to even enter small town governments.
The Japanese are not some mystical Samurai. The vast majority of them have no idea what is about to happen or what happened to the US and Europe.
Never said 'everything will be fine', more there's time from natural resistance.
The Japanese CHOSE to instead of having lockdown, national isolation. They are more inclined to be xenophobic than be some 'bright eyed doesn't know what's going on' weakling than what a few black pilled think.
They banned foreigners from an entire district of Kyoto and there are grassroots protests against migration already, there probably is already politicians and individuals positioning themselves on rejecting immigration knowing this could be an election winner.
They banned them for harassing the Geisha. Not because of some anti-foreigner/-immigrant sentiment.
Look, dude. I love the Japanese and their culture. They are good, clean, industrious people. BUT they are also hopelessly naive when it comes to the things that are in store for them if they don't shut this thing down right now.
Maybe they will wake up before it's too late. Maybe they won't. I hope they do, but I am not very optimistic.
