As soon as you surrender your guns you are already lost as a nation. All governments are rabid beasts - once they grow too big and escape the leash, the only solution is to put them down and start a new one. When you surrender your arms you damn your country.

This would not be happening a hundred years ago, because the natives would just shoot the invaders and government wouldn't have the power to stop them.
