One thing about TheQuartering, hustle or grifter, he does stick up for his friends and actually puts his money where his mouth is. I don't think he has ever walked back his support unless something is proven demonstrable wrong. That's part of the hustle, for sure, but even today he says "Yeah I stuck up for Ethan Klein during his court battle"
