Feels like, at least above the actual customer base, the West have forgotten the importance of beauty especially in a product and act surprised when they lose money while the East who haven't forgotten rake in the money.
That might've been the starting point but I genuinely believe they've forgotten how to depict beauty.
With ESG running low, it'd make sense to pivot and add some more sex appeal to sell on titillation to cover for lack of originality. The fact they haven't makes me suspect they've forgotten what IS appealing to the average person.
Sydney Sweeney has a somewhat curvaceous bodice, and in her recent Marvel movie you wouldn't have known it, but in the romcom Anyone But You which Sweeney was an Exec Producer on, she basically flaunts the goods. So Disney like Microsoft actively desexifying.
