If I went to a blind person and had the cure to blindness, 100% of them would take it immediately.

Don't be too sure. A blind leftist is as evil and stupid as a sighted one. I can imagine some would enjoy being a member of a marginalized group (the "unsighted") more than being a normal "sighted person."
