I'm curious about what kind of country music people here listen to. I'm a newcomer to the genre, having only started enjoying it during Covid. Anything that's older or from known conservative artists is a bonus, but I'm interested in anything you guys listen to.

Pretty much anything before 1984. The older and more cowboy, the better.
But I get a real kick out of David Allan Coe.
Can't stand the modern "New Country pap that just sounds like pop music with a steel guitar.
The Gambler and Coward of the County by Kenny Rogers is the only songs I've heard that are that old. I like them, and it's a shame my country radio station doesn't play songs more than 10 or 20 years old. Even some 90s stuff would be nice.
Hank Williams Sr, Gene Autrey, Eddie Albert was a good cowboy yodeler (yes, the dude from Green Acres). Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson On the Road Again, and for sure Waylon Jennings. Dolly Parton, Reba Mackentyre, Loretta Lynn the Coalminer's Daughter.
If they play none of these, they have no business calling themselves a "country" station.
Fair enough. I freely admit that 80% of what they play is shit, but that's still better than the only other stations I listen to which are 90% shit. Everything else is 100% shit. I just want something to listen to in the car and there aren't many good options.
mannnn fuck dolly parton.. loretta lynn should not be mentioned in the same paragraph as that twat
