Taken to a downtown hospital by ambulance, my mother and I went there the next day to see her.

Because it was September 2020, they would only let one of us into the hospital at a time.

As I sat outside for hours while Mom visited grandma, a gang fight broke out nearby.

I could well have been caught in the crossfire and killed.

Because of stupid government policy.
