This is so tiresome, they take the fact that there is some level of subjectivity in a field and then claim that that means there's no objective standard or that it's pointless to try.
Like with art. We might disagree on what the most beautiful sculpture is, a different Bernini might speak more to you than it does to me, but that doesn't make a banana on a wall good art just because we can't agree or judge which masterpiece is 'best'
This is them doing it again in a different field. Just because all translation and interpreting comes with some loss, or hard choices, or that there are tradeoffs between meaning, beauty, flow and in the case of dubs, time and lip-pattern restrictions, doesn't mean that there isn't a standard to strive towards, or that inserting your own politics is somehow ok.
And many of them know this. But they lie to you about it. The others lie to themselves about it.
