Given how much of a flop Rings of Power was/is and how successful Reacher was in comparison, why the fuck would they choose less money and getting more bogged down in political self destruction than more money and not getting involved?
Even if there are no outside influences, Amazon have just let their managerial level become infested with woke graduates. Similar to the Bud Light marketing VP. They truly believe in their bubble. It's why they demand such curated information. It's painful cognative dissonance and willful ignorance. 'I'm too smart to watch/read that low brow source/information.'
