I'm not surprised. We have empathy towards those we consider equal or below us. This reveals the hierarchy. Men see each other as equals and women as below them. Women see men as being superior and therefore hold no empathy for them.
I would expect the results to be similar if children are included in the question. Men being equal across the board while women only having empathy for women and children.
