You don’t like being called names but you call me a “jackass”. Ok. Like I said, I’m not listening to anyone younger than me lecture about race. If my parents who experienced the Jim Crow south want to talk to me about it or anyone from that era I’ll sit and listen. Sorry, but there is nothing I’m gonna learn from you about race. I never said to remove the civil rights act. The free association part could be challenged on constitutional grounds.
Honestly I’m sick and tired of talking about race. As I mentioned before, I went through a time when that’ was all I talked about.
Keep silent on what? That there are people online who don’t like black people? Before you got on I got into discussions with people and it became clear where everyone stood so with certain posts why bother to say anything. I could’ve just not mentioned my race when I started. I honestly would just rather discuss nerd stuff which was the main reason for joining this group.
And this is what I’m talking about. You arguing with racists online doesn’t make you Frederick Douglas. Please get over yourself. Like I said, i can’t take any black person younger than me seriously when they lecture about race. Forgive me if I saw no point in discussing things with someone who specifically said I was barely human. You think he is going to come around and change his mind?
I’m not ashamed of being black. It does disappoint me to see such a pervasive victim mentality today though. I had a great grandfather whose business was destroyed during the black Wall Street bombing. He rebuilt. Another great grandfather didn’t learn to read til age 21 and he had to teach himself because he felt he was getting cheated on his pay. Plenty other stories just in my family tree that make it hard to adopt the whiny woe is me mentality considering what they experienced.
I just figure if you are going to say someone is a self hater then just say it. As I’ve said before, I would love to see the world join hands and sing about peace and brotherhood. I do try to love everyone. I love you despite my annoyance, I love those who see me only as a “dumb nigger” and hope they change their views one day, I love the black friends I had in the past who despised whites and hope they change their views. I just gave up on trying to reason with those who made their views crystal clear. Now if they want to have a discussion then I’m all for it
I’m sorry for being rude, and I do hate racism. I was a bit harsh with you because you aren’t doing what I was really referring to. I have a MASSIVE extended family so I have some cousins who constantly talk about slavery as if they lived it personally and treat every white person as if they owned slaves. Also some cousins who act ignorant and foolish and then get mad. about negative perceptions black ppl may have when they perpetuate the very stereotypes. Not saying you do that. So like I said I apologize for being so harsh.
Young people overall can be very smart. Nothing wrong with a hero complex. I’m told I’m like Superman by my best friend because I try to see the good in everyone.
