Has there been any explanation on WHY this hole shitshow happened, yet?

Best I can tell there was some vague, corporate-speak "difference of ideologies" but that doesn't really explain who or what or why.

I can't believe no one suspects background government actors, especially since Biden signed an "AI safety" EO just three weeks ago that represents an attempt to get control over AI.
