At least by my understanding, it should be murder. He clearly intended to cause harm, and that harm caused the target's death. Manslaughter is just when a benign-intentioned mistake kills someone (oops, I left my parking brake off and my car rolled into someone).
There's reasonable doubt about whether he meant to kill the other guy (murder) or was merely throwing his leg out in a dangerous and irresponsible way to block the other guy (manslaughter).
When I saw the video it looked like intention to injure Johnson(its hockey so those plays aren't uncommon) not go for the neck. I personally think it's probably involuntary manslaughter but I'm not a lawyer lol
