To the everyday person, this probably sounds like relief from the (government-made) monopolies like Cox, Comcast, Spectrum, etc. in reality, this is just a way of controlling the internet further and eliminating dissent completely. Not sure why they feel they need to do this, because it’s not like these internet companies weren’t already lapdogs of the Establishment. Maybe to cut out the middlemen?
