I was thinking of getting Shenmue 1-3 on Steam because it’s a game I always wanted to play but didn’t have a Dreamcast (was a loyal Sony guy before joining the PC Master Race). Is it a fun game or should I save my money?
Also, I’ve mentioned before that I love the dynasty warriors series. Any other games with that sort of fighting style? I wish it would expand to other parts of the globe. I know it’s nerdy but in the second one I thought it was really cool that it had an encyclopedia with info about the real life of each character. Romance of the Three Kingdoms could make a great mini series
The Shenmue games inspired the Yakuza games. So I would play them instead. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is much different than the rest of the series. Completely different play style, but honestly my favorite so far.
Fist of the Northstar: Lost Paradise is a bit similar.
For musou, if you don't mind aging graphics, Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate Definitive has a fucking huge cast. Lots of Dynasty Warriors heroes in there. It's like an ensemble of 4 different musou games.
If you have a Switch, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is fast and fun, and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes combines a musou and like a Final Fantasy Tactics job system into one game. I liked it a lot. It's got 3 different play thrus as well.
I like the One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 and 4 games. Both musou. They each got their own charm and strengths. Though, 3 is getting a bit long in the tooth now, and 4 feels DLC grabby. Check them out on sale or the high seas.
