You often see leftists self-diagnosed with autism, ocd or being bi-polar. For them it is another badge to wear and not a medical condition. If you ever visit a center for autistic people you would be terrified of how bad extreme versions of autism are.
Now the same people put a meaningless badge on a character and say she is autistic. Is as meaningless as their twitter bio.
From the game perspective it is even dumber. This is medieval, who diagnosed her as autistic? What does that even mean? I would guess a lot of wizards are autistic by the nature of the profession. Why would it be important for this one, it is empty virtue-signaling and "modern" pandering, again, in a medieval setting.
Exactly and in role play you can make whatever character.
For autism is worse, almost any character can be autistic. Most "autistic" people are "functional" autists that you couldn't tell if you don't interact daily. You can make an argument for Drizzt to be autistic and it can fit.
It bothers me more then it should. I don't like modern terms in medieval games stuff like "cool", "far out", "f**k", "bigot", "racist". Autistic is up there with modern fantasy that is no longer medieval.
Let me guess, nobody was asking for this. I don’t thing the people in charge understand the concept of role play

Hearing characters swear in BG3 really pissed me off. Why can't they just make Fantasy swear words?
