From what I heard, it's the best adaptation of an Anime so far, and a side benefit is that more people are watching the Anime and reading the manga now.
Hopefully the lesson is 'stick as close to the source material as possible (given the limits of being human and special effects) and don't inject constant massaging to get a successful show'
Though I doubt the ones currently on strike will ever learn this lesson.
So is not injecting poison into yourself and not harming yourself for approval but that bar is violated every second thanks to social media.
I wish every show could be top tier like Chernobyl, Home Improvement or Deep Space 9 but the current writer crop employed don't have the talent to accomplish that. The main reason this probably turned out so well was the authors tight leash.
