Following the court’s decision New York legislators immediately passed the Concealed Carry Improvement Act, which prohibits carrying a gun in “sensitive areas,” such as stadiums, houses of worship, museums, parks and other public places; imposes revised record-keeping and new safety requirements on retailers; and mandates background checks on all ammunition purchases.
This battle will not end until Clarence Thomas slaps down this law as well. Mandatory background checks on ammo and removing the ability to defend yourself if you go to church are far more flagrant violations of the Constitution than the original.
I doubt any of these legislators care about gun violence, they just fear guns in the hands of taxpaying conservatives.
