Newsom is a huge fucking threat. He's nearly as tyrannical as it comes and is, for a Democrat or politician in general, young, good looking, and articulate. Considering the Dems voted *cough cough* a rotting corpse into the highest office in the land, they'd eat Newsom up. Honestly pretty scary. He's like a more competent, even more fascist Biden, who is vastly more electable.
He reminds me of Mitt Romney. Being "young", good looking and polished isn't all there is. His glibness may turn off a lot of the working class people who think that Biden is one of theirs. That said, yeah, it's a good idea not to underestimate people.

Mitt Romney wasn't (technically) a Democrat, though. Remember...it's (D)ifferent.
Newsom's biggest hurdle is a primary, not a general. If he's the Democratic nominee, he's fucking golden, since he has a "D" next to his name.
Yeah, I wonder. If Romney had won, neoconism would still be dominating the GOP.
Such things have a way of confounding expectations. But it's better to be overly cautious than overly optimistic and cavalier.
