I’ll probably get it around thanksgiving. I was watching the HeelzvsBabyface livestream that got so much attention. I avoided arguing with the trolls in his comment section otherwise I’d still be on there with the people who said everyone has pronouns or that pronouns are welcoming.
I know some say to just roll your eyes and continue but this acknowledgment of a tiny percentage of delusional people is beyond idiotic.
I’ve also heard that they really hammer THE MESSAGE and there is the usual “representation”
I feel kinda bad because I know there are female gamers and I have some nieces who play games (granted they are games you would expect girls to play) but this almost decade long push for more women in gaming is beyond annoying. As well as the “everything has to appeal to everyone” marketing idea.
Like I said I’ll probably buy it around thanksgiving and there will be cool mods I’d imagine. I’m still playing heavily modded Skyrim and can’t wait for the oblivion mod.
Next up is Elder Scrolls 6
I have Game Pass paid through June. Right now I'm 70/30 in favor of extending it another year if the Christmas sales on subscriptions are good enough. Last year it cost me $95 for a year and I got more than $95 worth of gaming from it.
So I won't be buying it, but I can play it. I might try it out after Thanksgiving. I'm sure I will eventually even if it's a year or two from now. Honestly I waver on how much I'm interested. I loved Fallout. Lukewarm on Elder Scrolls. Starfield just looks boring to me. I don't "roleplay" a made up character in my head, so being dropped with what feels like generic person into generic sci-fi space world doesn't catch my attention. Fallout has a feel to the world--the cold war era theme, the real old music, etc. That's what gets me. Not the characters or the just ok story. Starfield looks to offer me none of that unless I want some high school kid's bored at school drawing on a notebook of a space place with some "atmospheric" music we downloaded somewhere playing.
On top of that I'm just too busy. I've got something planned about every other weekend on average until late February and I'm playing Witcher 3 expansions and Atomic Heart right now with a not short list of half finished stuff behind it. I play with my cousin on weeknights most of the time. Time is just too short to pick up another long grindy RPG.
