I just thought it was amusing, I guess. Three hours of lectures a week, theoretically about marine mammals, but I would say... 80% of the course content is about ideology, and "saving the planet"...
This is core. Can't avoid it. But it is insane to me that the Head of School, the person who supervises most of my courses, is so ideologically compromised that she essentially runs (STEM) courses like this as her personal ideological crusade...
Mid-30s woman, here. Looks exactly like you would expect. And she calls herself "old", in class, because of course she does...
That doesn't exactly reflect well on the University, I would have thought.
But anyway, I'm just there to get through this thing, and get my piece of paper, but it's still... Disappointing, I guess, that this is the quality of education I am dealing with.
You're paying for this shit?
Do yourself a favor and give up on the idea of becoming a marine biologist or whatever it is you think your degree is for. You're now a soldier in an ideological war, and either you wage war on this hoe until she's gone and the school teaches actual science, or you walk away.
Sticking around to subject yourself to this is bad for you in every way. You're not being trained to be a scientist. You're wasting your most important formative years learning to quietly acquiesce to insane tyranny, hoping that if you just keep quiet and keep going, it'll all work out like you dreamed it would.
It won't.
A diploma is nothing but a worthless slip of paper. It doesn't magically make you whatever it says it does. You're being set up for failure, just like the bright-eyed kids now dead on the Oceangate sub because they blindly trusted the ideologues who "trained" them with video games.
Either fight like hell for your education, or give up on the idea entirely.
