I just thought it was amusing, I guess. Three hours of lectures a week, theoretically about marine mammals, but I would say... 80% of the course content is about ideology, and "saving the planet"...
This is core. Can't avoid it. But it is insane to me that the Head of School, the person who supervises most of my courses, is so ideologically compromised that she essentially runs (STEM) courses like this as her personal ideological crusade...
Mid-30s woman, here. Looks exactly like you would expect. And she calls herself "old", in class, because of course she does...
That doesn't exactly reflect well on the University, I would have thought.
But anyway, I'm just there to get through this thing, and get my piece of paper, but it's still... Disappointing, I guess, that this is the quality of education I am dealing with.
Gaia theory itself is actually kind of a fascinating concept, and ironically flies in the face of everything the climate fanatics stand for.
This chick, however, sounds like your average hairy-armpitted ideologically-driven diversity hire 'scientist' representing everything wrong with tertiary education.
Oh I know, and I agree...
But this... This is not like that. As you say, she's very much the latter...
She's ripping talking points straight out of Agenda 2032, now. It's so blatant it's scary...
Half of my subjects in my degree (almost all the "science", but not maths, ones) have been like this. With this chick as head of school? Now I know why...
It'll be even better when they decide to dispense with any remnants of science in favour of 'tRadiTiONaL wAYs oF KnOWinG'. Already have in some unis.
