I can’t tell you how many times female coworkers have told me how thankful they are that they don’t have daughters.
I think many of them know how awful they were as teens and don’t want to deal with that. The main reason they say is because of the nightmare of trying to raise a daughter in a world where they are more easily susceptible to social media influences.
They probably underestimate the influence of social media on boys, but I’m sure they are imagining how much worse they themselves would have been if social media existed and apply that logic to what having a daughter would be like.
Social media will cause your daughter to sext nude selfies to boys that get shared all over the internet until she's so embarrassed she develops some mental break and starts starving herself/gorging herself/cutting herself/mutilating herself. And/or lose her virginity at 14, become a massive slut, get pregnant, etc.
SM is bad for boys but it's really fucking bad for girls who are already more predisposed to care about what others think and say.
