Eagles of Rome is a French-Italian Graphic Novel that depicts a historical fiction that happens in Ancient Rome. Marini writes and draws all the volumes and his work is fantastic. Here is a 2-page pannel of the battle of Teutoborg, and here are two pages of dialog.

I really recommend buying the books though, this is a very talented independent artist creating something extraordinary.
Sounds interesting! Are there versions in English? Otherwise I can use my limited Italian with an Italian dictionary

They are. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find them in print in English but you can get them all as digital downloads.
And if anyone knows of a print book in English please point me to it.
