I mean, it was owned by Kraft (yankee company), and was specifically bought back by Bega (Aussie company) for parochial reasons, largely, so you're not wrong, lol...
But nah, I haven't seen any "woke marketing" by Bega, yet...
Doesn't mean that they haven't done that. I just haven't seen it, lol. So yeah, pretty much...
Though "the elites" don't really eat Vegemite, sadly. They go for "smashed avo" and poached eggs instead. So I don't think they really care, tbh...
I'm not sure if I would call it "beloved", but that did happen to Coon cheese (one of Bega's main rivals, in that "space"). Also Chicos (chocolate jelly babies, essentially) and Redskins (sticky red toffee chews), among other things...
Because all of those things were "cancelled" after the Floyd riots, sadly... Usually by the American parent company.
We also used to have Golliwog biscuits (they were just shaped accordingly. Nothing particularly offensive) and Dixie cups (vanilla ice cream in a cup), the former of which you definitely can't get anymore, and the latter of which has probably been renamed by now...
Eskimo Pies (vanilla slab covered in chocolate) are still a thing, though! Just harder to find...

Oh. That's depressing...
Last time I bought them, they hadn't changed the name! But that was maybe two years ago, so...
What are they now, then, lol?
