Please note that these dogs were not gassed humanely at pound or something. The police were dispatched to gun down the dogs in their cages with firearms, not to stop the spread of the virus, but to prevent the dogs owners from picking up the dogs they had already purchased. To be clear: no one had Covid. This had nothing to do with Covid. This was about intimidating the dog owners into compliance with the order by shooting dogs to death.
The level of open repression and tyranny that took place in Australia is hard to go through in one list, but I'll give a short summary of the links that you might all need to watch again to remember that: yeah, this shit really did happen to us.
I will also remind you that Australia first started out with Covid "hotels", whereby people who tested positive for Covid-19 (because those field tests were so accurate), were forced into hotels. There were a litany of cases of violence, sexual abuse, and indefinite detention at the Covid hotels; which is why the Australian government built the camps themselves.
Australians on Reddit actually challenged me that the Covid camps were a good thing, and a much better solution than the hotels.
