This is a hindsight is 20/20 comment, but it would have been fantastic if there was a wikipedia backup from the start, outside of their control that kept records of pages as they get created so they could not be edited by admins who don't like reality over there on wikipedia.
There's a reason why the wikipedia co-founder said it was accurate for about five-ish years before turning into a left wing propaganda machine (paraphrasing)
What you need is a merging tool like those used for computer code. I've seen scripts that automatically merge unconflicted revisions then send you a message of what to merge manually.
