Every European country has better universal health care than Canada, and they're paying significantly less per capita for it, but Canadians are endlessly propagandized with stories about Americans having to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars out of their own pocket for cancer treatment. I know it's not true, but most people up here believe it. As much as they bitch about the Canadian health care system, the follow-up is always, "But at least we're better off than the States."
