7 Vivid Sydney (best described as "capitalist Diwali") is one of my favourite Aus events, but even I have to admit that it's become utter, utter wank. This article tells it better than I could (and I can't really afford to go right now, anyway). Sex talks under lights galore! I did enjoy "rubbing shoulders" with my "social betters" at this event, while it lasted, I must admit...
Met a bunch of Aussie musos and promoters at a Vivid event, and made some good "arts industry" connections, too.
Ironically, the musos have all either gone broke or woke (or both), now, and the arts people have been "moved on", but it was fun while it lasted...
Now? Fuck this circus. Even seeing the city buildings glow ain't worth the woke lecture that comes attached.
We have probably one of the greatest man-made "canvasses" in the world, with the Opera House, so of course the woke have to ruin that, too...
