No, I simply plan on making it a bad investment to try to extort me. The Taliban didn't need to take Joe Biden's money, they just had to make sure that it wasn't worthwhile to hold Afghanistan.
It seems like doing something about corporate tyranny without violating libertarian values requires living the lifestyle of guerilla warfare despite living in a first world country. Wouldn't it be more practical to just...not be a libertarian?
I think your math is wrong. You don't need to live a guerilla life all the time. You just need to be willing to go to that option when the other three boxes of liberty have failed and it's tactically feasible.
It is impractical to entrust the institution which has done the most to advance the Progressive authoritarian cause, to somehow start opposing that cause effectively. It was designed by progressives, it is run by progressives, its staff is almost all progressives, and its structure rewards the behavior of progressives. It is impractical to expect that it will be effective at reversing the Progressive Era.
The corporate tyranny which we both hate is not coincidental with the growth of the state. It is the outcome of the growth of the state, intentionally brought about by progressives who played on the same temptations which draw you to seek to use state power. I want to destroy state power, in part because we will destroy corporate power with it.
Government is a tool. It has no inherit ideology (other than not being anarchy).
I think you are far less likely to die pointlessly by not being libertarian, though.
That's backwards.
Violence is a tool. Government is an ideological institution that uses that tool.
Whether a death is pointless is a matter of ideology and religion. Non-Christians believe Christ died needlessly. I believe that millions of people who have died in the middle east as a result of Middle East adventurous died needlessly. But I also recognize the importance of ta focal considerations, as do most Libertarians, which is why there aren't Ruby Ridges every week.
Corporate growth was enabled by state regulation, look at the history of the railroads in the 1800's and the tycoons of the 1880's. Without regulation, they were getting destroyed by competition.
