OG Lego was always "for everyone". It was just a pile of bricks from a box or bin and your own imagination.

Which was why it was so much harder to overcharge stupid people with that version. Once they learned they can charge $40 for 15-20 pieces if they slap Star Wars on it, this was just an inevitability.
