I’ve heard that line—usually phrased as something like “if victory was impossible, their propaganda would be unnecessary“—before, and I understand that it’s a nice hopeful slogan and hope is important, but it’s not really true. It could be that propaganda is what makes victory impossible, because it prevents any form of opposition from recruiting enough numbers or organizing well.
That’s not to say that we have necessarily reached that point, I just dislike the logic.
