Fox hired Caitlyn Jenner because he's trans and fired Tucker Carlson because he's religious. That's your "conservative" news network.

We might not ever know the specifics of Carlson's firing, but Fox News is heavily invested in trying to blunt right-wing radicalization, hence hiring Jenner. Carlson flirted with more radical ideas than most of the Fox News crew so that probably plays some sort of role.
