It's called politics. It's gross and appalling but common. While against each other they pull whatever and say whatever to beat their opponents down. Hard to say who stands for what at this point until a candidate is chosen.

This is one reason I hate politics. They need to remove money, lobbying, and create a channel and internet site just for political ads and candidates to put up their crap. Keep it to one site and one place that everyone knows and can go to to see who is running and their positions. I would also say that it should contain their voting record if they've served and a list of positions that they've held to or violated. Give voters actual information. Also, post their financials. That would definitely be a kicker for most.
