I keep seeing people like critical drinker recommend it,but I find it hard to take their opinions on this particular show seriously since they don't seem to be bothered by the really obnoxious black washing. Other times I respect his opinion though. Given that the targaryens are supposed to be an inbred 'pure' family, the idea that they would have anything to do with folks who look very different from them just completely ruins the immersion and world building for me. I can buy that you might have had valerians with dark skin, but there is no way targaryens would be marrying them. I suppose my main question is who is married to who in the show then. Apologies for the long winded nature of the post.

Everyone knew it would be contrived, woke, and boring but the spin on viewership was the real kicker. It broke HBOs record for number of streaming viewership on opening night and they were all over the internet proclaiming the show an unrivaled success.
Three weeks later it had reported the biggest viewership drop-off in HBO history as everyone walked away from the boring story, the woke politics, and preachy writing. Now they're skipping 2023 production entirely as they focus on trying to figure out how to unfuck the show without actually addressing any of these problems.
Are you confused with Rings of Powah? Because afaik, House of the Dragon has been better than most shows at keeping their audience.
Nope. Ep1 brought in a record of over 3 million viewers but by episode 3 it had lost a third of that number. Somehow ratings were strong again for the season finale.
