Anyone else feel that this entire article is just an angry whiny shitpost by Emanuel Maiberg? There is more pissing and moaning about Twitter and Musk than anything else. Like remember back during the Fappening when Apple swore up and down the whole thing had nothing to do with them or their policies but that was later exposed as bullshit because it was an iCloud vulnerability. And here we have like all of the blame being directed at Twitter/Musk as though they were somehow personally responsible.
That description sounds exactly like a SIM swap, a common hack in which someone tricks or bribes employees at wireless providers to switch the target's phone number to another device, which can then be leveraged to access other accounts by receiving their two-factor authentication codes sent over SMS.
So literally no fault to Twitter or even Reid herself. Of course it's Vice, so what can you expect.
