amazing how a guy who made his career making music about working class struggles is also one of the most out of touch elitist snobs
See also: Billy Bragg.
Or arguably Elvis Costello, too…
Or like any “working class” British actor pretty much of the last 20 years (and beyond)…
Point is, this is more common than you might think, tbh…
I don't think that the vast majority of rockstars grow up mentally past their late teens/early twenties. They live a lifestyle that allows them to be Peter Pan forever. They can spend their days partying and doing drugs, with a manager to babysit them and handle all the adult decisions.
I still love rock and metal, and have ever since I really got into classic rock in middle school. But that makes me acutely aware as I grow older, people who seemed really smart when I was younger, seem dumber than a sack of bricks as I approach them in age.
I think Michael Moore takes the cake(no pun intended), went from documenting the impact of globalization destroying Detroit's economy to shilling for establishment political candidates.
He still dresses like a typical fat NPC in the cereal aisle at Wal-Mart as if hes fooling anybody that hes totally not a multi millionaire with multiple homes and armed bodyguards.
