In a society where 'literally' means 'figuratively' (with institutional backing), and opponents who engage in college debate level word twisting and teasing, permanent means whatever they want it to mean. Unless you can gather enough support/power to pin them down and agree on a definition, then show that agreement to the world, then bludgeon them with their own stupidity until they concede, there is no permanent but their permanent.
