They were too stupid to realize they were useful idiots, cogs in the machine- easily replaceable, low skill (like waitresses, minus the actual work) pawns. Except there's only 8 pawns/side in chess, there's easily hundreds if not thousands of dumb, woke broads who can whine about everything. Hell, they can literally be replaced by an AI.
