This is cloning and it is banned for humans.
600 fertilized eggs only resulted in 7 births. The issue is that slicing and dicing DNA damages it, and this causes things to break. Just because a mouse survived to be born doesn't mean it doesn't have fucked up DNA.
Being able to slice and dice for cloning purposes is not new and has been done for decades. Nothing about this research is new, it's just a "lol lets try to make a 'two dads' mouse for fun using already existing tech"
