Obviously, this goes for video games and the movie industry also. Especially if you work for a company that relies on pre-release reviews as a large form of income.
They can easily be blacklisted and blocked from future review copies which could cost them dearly. But this is also why freelance reviewers tend to do so much better.
I wouldn't say this is breaking news though, the big review sites have been joked about for years for being bought and paid for shills who'll quite happily review a game highly because there was a good enough number on the cheque. At least on YT now they should be doing the "sponsored by..." On it
