I too assume his "friends" are distancing themselves to avoid the contagion. Not unlike the situation Alex Holowka (or however you spell it) found himself in thanks to Literally Who 1 and unfortunately committed suicide over. Whether Pickle Rick will do that too is anyone's guess.
