So the thing is: DeSantis did impose lock-downs and shut-downs. It's why FL was initially off my list of places to move to. I had a gorgeous spot in SD picked out. What ended up happening was though: DeSantis took an honest look at incoming data, and chose to not re-up any shut-downs. In fact he went hard-to-the-paint against his own Mayors who pushed for such things (and won, which is the opposite of what happened in South Dakota).

But the also thing is: Trump, this is yours. The slew of Governor-issued SoEs wouldn't have been possible without you doing it first. This was a big boo-boo.

Trump was pretty good for a long time with the covid bullshit--that period of time where he was allowed to give his town halls, things were going alright. But he lost control of it (attention should be paid as to how this was allowed to happen) and it was all shit-show from there.

It may hurt Republicans (oh no!) but I want this to be a focal point in every campaign. I want the spider-man meme where everyone points a finger at everyone. I want everyone accusing everyone else of having put too much stock in covid hysteria, in doing too much, in supporting pharma too much, in believing in vaccines too much. I want it to escalate to the point where asian-style mask-wearing becomes ridiculous again.

I don't actually give a shit which pointless geriatric ends up in the seat, I want covid hashed-out Gladiator-style.
