Sad to see 2020 just broke this man.

I get tired of all the anti-Trump stuff from some people but...yeah, that's retarded. And cringe.
Do better, Mr. Trump.
It's not untrue, though. And this comes from a Florida resident who is both a firm DeSantis supporter and someone who specifically moved here in 2020 because of DeSantis' actions and policies.
DeSantis shut a lot of shit down. And a lot of people around here are still really salty about it. A lot of people lost money in transactions, because that is what happens when you halt things. People lost out because they couldn't buy things because of government, and people lost out because they couldn't sell things because of government. People on the margins who couldn't handle a period of interruption went under.
Couple things about that is: Having come from a "soft shutdown State," it was relatively brief, which is HUGE. In my home State, the bars and restaurants and fucking ski lifts opened back up in a month, while the schools (LOL, BULLET DODGE) barbers, candy shops, and theaters stayed closed by decree hard for A YEAR and soft for 2 FUCKING YEARS.
Most people are incapable of accounting for the passage of time. Once you're on the other side of a span of time in which something about that time is meaningful, they have a hard time--or literally can't--recollect it. "Water under the bridge" is pernicious and the norm. NOT ME, BOYO. I remember all that time when I wasn't literally locked in my house, but might as well have been, since everything to go to was closed. Including all public services, like libraries, and parks, and COUGH SCHOOLs. Yeah you have 4 rugrats bounce around your house and your brain for a year, and you remember that shit. And this was in a "voluntary" lockdown State, in which most shit was closed not because it was demanded, but because in some bizarre manifestation of the rampant cancer that is the administrative State gone out of control, they largely assumed they should be closed.
Anyhoo. Hilariously enough, some Floridians are still really grumpy about that 21 or 30 or whatever days of shutdown they endured. Yeah, it happened. It did happen. It was lighter than anything any other State endured, and yes I'm including South Dakota in that because I've met and talked to that beautiful bitch personally, and PR aside, fully half her State still shut down because every Mayor ignored her Governor dictates and still did what they wanted, because in SD the Governership is way weaker than it is in any other State.
So yeah, FL, the entire State, did suffer shut-downs. Is this a good thing for Trump to sling at DeSantis? Jesus Christ no. WHO BUILT THE CAMPS, TRUMP. I'm a huge Trump supporter, and I think he got schlonged big-time by basically everything regarding covid--to this day! I think he got played and is still being played. The dude is still convinced that his biggest blunder: Accepting this up-jacked flu as a State of Ehmergency, and following through with the lunatic fiction that you can "vaccinate" against a highly-mutable airborne cold virus. This shit brought him down, no doubt about it, and yet he hugs it like it's his nighty best pal teddy bear. Embarrassing.
All this, and I still endorse Donald J motherloving Trump for (still) President.
Why? Because despite his obvious fuck-ups, and the likelihood that he will continue to fuck up, I legitimately think he's the best man for the job. The job is shit, by the way. If you've learned nothing else in your life, you should have learned this: That the office of the President of the United States, if done in the best possible way for the peoples of America, is shit. It's a throne of garbage, in the center of Washington D.C., which is inarguably one of human history's most evil loci. Even driving past it gives me the heebie-jeebies.
DeSantis rules Florida, which is right. Florida is not as secure a bastion of sanity as many think, it is truly a battleground State, and that is County by County, and neighborhood by neighborhood. Seriously--people fight about it, and they sell their holdings and move to RVs or out-of-State, or park their RVs and buy a holding, over it. FL is also being flooded by immigration, both blue and red. Territory is won and lost every day. DeSantis won big because he is He, but without him, the next Governorship could easily go some blue from the Miami region.
Then where would America be? Personally, I shudder to think.
DeSantis is needed in FL, and FL is needed for America to continue to Be. D.C. is a clownshow, and what it needs is an obstructionist clown. You're not gonna rehabilitate all this nonsense by getting really good Republican candidate in D.C. D.C. will continue to be D.C., until something big happens (my personal wish being that a maverick President just up-and-says he's moving the U.S. headquarters to Elephant Butte. New Mexico, overnight).
(this posts 99% agrees with philosohphoraptor and he down-voted it, because he is stupid and gets mad over posts that aren't 100% anti-trump)
I wouldn't be posting the stupid stuff Trump says on here if he would just stop saying stupid stuff all the time.
I am so sick and tired of Trump and I am utterly disappointed by all the people who actually want this guy of all people to run again.
It is long past the time for to him to hang it up and enjoy his retirement. He brings nothing to the table but pettiness, resentment and incompetence at this point.
You literally never talk about anything else.
No, seriously:
This is a fucking lie, you fucking liar.
I get it. I was there too for a while. What changed my mind was the pettiness from within the Republican party, and the old guard trying to keep out the "MAGA" candidates. Now, before someone comes in and whines, I do actually acknowledge that - at least so far- McCarthy has been doing fairly well. I also acknowledge that Trump is in bed with the very same old guard I want him to fight against.
But I think his brash, outspoken and, yes, obnoxious attitude, and his willingness to say things other people won't means that, even though he allies with the "swamp," his very presence encourages said MAGA candidates to, in my opinion, change the Republican party for the better. He's an obnoxious bootlicker to the old guard, but simultaneous may be their biggest threat. I'm very reluctantly back onboard the Trump Train, despite his many flaws, because I think he'll actually push the needle. Maybe not by his direct actions, but his very existence pushes change on the lower levels. That's what he brings to the table, in my eyes.
In a perfect world...100% agreed. But for now I think we still need him. I wish we didn't, but I think we do. Anyone else, no matter how good, I think let's the Republican party backslide. Presidentially, there are plenty of better options than Trump. Meta-wise, directionally? I think he's still - again, despite his many, many, many flaws - in a unique position to push change.
Perhaps I'm naive, but that's my take. 2024 Trump's certainly no 2016 Trump, but he's still useful.
Good post. Be 'ware, philosotard is a sockpuppeter, so you might end up underwater.
Thanks, but even if true, don't really care. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and people can upvote or downvote if they so choose.
I respectfully disagree with you on Trump and his 2024 campaign.
Why I don't support him again is very simple.
He has not learned anything from his mistakes! This is a man who still brags that the covid vax saved 100 million lives, still pals around with the neocon king Lindsay Graham and still has the audacity to say he will drain the swamp. He has learned nothing and he is completely out of touch with his own base.
He even had his inner circle whip votes for eternal loser Ronna McDaniel and secured her re-election. This is not making the GOP better.
This is ensuring stagnation, incompetence and preserving a state of perpetual losing.
Trump's obnoxious style of communication absolutely repulses suburban voters. He had incumbency advantage in 2020 and he wasn't able to secure his win. As a private citizen, he has zero chance of winning the White House again. He has more baggage than ever before as he constantly rehashes the 2020 election and the J6 stuff has only harmed him further.
Mark my words, He is a guaranteed loss in 2024.
It is time to look to the future and not try to futilely replay the old hits of the past.
It is time for new leadership in 2024.
Not the ravings of a 78 year old incompetent arrogant old man.
If you want a shot at winning 2024 Trump is not the guy.
If you want to certainly lose 2024 and then complain how everything sucks and everything is unfair then Trump is your guy.
Who is the guy? Right now I personally think it is Ron DeSantis but I am open to anyone new who is willing to fight competently to advance the right and be capable of winning.
