no, pedophilia isn't normalized except among some communities of faggots who have viewed it as a cultural heritage for a very long time, citing to ancient greeks and shit.
if anything, there has been an increasing moral panic over pedos and a constant pressure to lie and push up the age of what is considered "pedo". the prior DSM set the victim age at basically about 10, and that was increased to 13 in the current DSM, the disparity being that 10-13 is "during" puberty instead of "prepubescent". 14+ is post-puberty and has always been seen as 100% normal attraction from a psychological standpoint notwithstanding that it might be illegal.
the Right has leaned hard into using pedophilia as a political weapon against the Left in recent years, often unfairly, sometimes fairly, particularly with LGBT activists. the Left is getting defensive and starting to "cover their flank" by also ratcheting up their own anti-pedo moral panic. the Left is still divided in their response though, which is why the Right keeps scoring points on this battlefield.
who the fuck is this "expert"? The video never puts his name on screen. the youtube page doesn't say his name either. it shouldn't be this hard to find his name. I found it, after googling, it's "Jon Uhler". Yes, she pronounces it, but that's not clear enough and there are various other possible spellings.
ANYWAY "Jon Uhler" is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), not a psychologist. He makes his living off the moral panic, so he isn't a trusted source. He also isn't a researcher and whatever he has to say is strictly anecdotal.
No, there aren't more pedos now than there used to be, society and especially the media is just more obsessed with them now than ever. It's a "summer of the shark" effect of cognitive bias.
Anyone who uses the term "psychopath" instantly loses credibility in my eyes. It is not a scientific term and has no meaning, so charlatans use it frequently and it means whatever they want it to mean. "sociopath" is a real term in so far as it is a reference to people with APD. "psychopath" is not.
Religious zealots - and "Jon Uhler" is one - always try to blame porn, but the data contradicts them overwhelmingly. Porn use and consumption massively increased with the rise of the internet. These people claim porn consumption and criminal acts are linked, so according to their thesis, sexual crimes should have skyrocketed from the late 90s and on since porn consumption did. But did it? No. IT WENT DOWN. A LOT. Sex crimes massively dropped over the exact same period that porn use skyrocketed. While correlation is not causation, a STRONGLY inverse correlation means that, if anything, high porn use at least does not cause any increase in sex crimes.
