I read a lot of esoteric works. I quite enjoy Julius Evola for example but I also read the original works that he draws on for much of what he talks about.
In actuality the concept of a genderless precursor human or "alien" or "god" is a common belief that has been around for thousands of years. However, it wasn't so much genderless as it was hermaphrodite. This is where Baphomet comes from. The Knights Templar didn't invent Baphomet so much as they pulled from earlier traditions and knowledge such as that documented by Hermes Trismegistus in his Corpus Hermeticum which itself were based upon beliefs and traditions that predate him. We're talking thousands years old knowledge.
Anyway, the going theory more or less is that humans themselves were actually at one point genderless or hermaphrodites where they possessed an equal part man and woman but when you have such a combination you don't actually discern the two aspects as different. You just believe you are a completed form thus the true completed form of a human is in fact genderless because it is both female and female and when you are both female and male and that's all you know, you don't see two different fenders combined into one, you simply see one complete human. Genderless, more or less. The concept of "both genders" is something that develops after the split.
The idea being that humans were split into man and woman as a devolution or perhaps punishment of some sort or accident or whatever. Adam and Eve are not two complete beings, but a God form of the two combined would be complete. Similar to how eating the fruit gives you the curse of good and evil but prior to knowledge of good and evil you didn't understand the duality, you just lived in harmony. This sort of harmony between men and women where we didn't understand the difference between man and woman and lived in harmony as a genderless or hermaphrodite being is essentially the primordial form of human. The ideal, like living in the Utopian place before eating the fruit was the ideal and we degraded from it.
What I just described above is supposedly why men desire women so much and women desire men because that's how we complete our form but this completeness is not true completeness. It's a lie more or less which is why the true love we seek never seems good enough. It's fleeting and always met with disappointed because we can't ever truly fill that broken piece of ourselves which is humans spitting into two different fenders into of our ideal hermaphroditic forms.
This could also explain in a mystical fashion, why men try to be women or vice versa yet it's never good enough and they commit suicide or are disappointed and they don't truly want to be either or and can't decide etc... They're trying to complete themselves and yet nothing they do will truly complete them because the true completed form of a human is hermaphrodite but not just in genitals but in spirit as well and no amount of chopping off your dick will give you the femininity of a true female etc... Humans can't complete their form despite trying very hard to. The compromise most people came to was fall in love and get married. Find synergy with a person of the opposite sex and bond with them. That is as close to the completed form as you can get. Today though, people are trying all sorts of different ways to complete themselves and failing miserably.
