Everyone’s bias against the Daily Wire is affecting their judgement. They’re swallowing Crowder’s side of the story hook, line and sinker.
The DW terms document is pretty standard fare. Crowder sat on the document for four months before releasing it. He registered the “StopTheCon.com” domain a month before this blew up. He secretly recorded a conversation with a friend a week before releasing his video. He has a history of enforcing contracts on people to shut them up (see: NotGayJared, Devin Tienken). Nobody from either DW or Blaze has come out and said their voice is being silenced or suppressed like Crowder claims they are doing. Crowders claims about independent conservative voices being silenced can’t be substantiated at all, nor can his claims of “Big Con” colluding with big tech.
The facts just do not add up.
I wouldn’t consider myself a fan of DW, but they are actually successful at pushing back against the Left, and you can’t argue with results.
Crowder, you don’t like how DW runs their business? Fine, but don’t air your grievances in public and burn bridges along the way just because you don’t like their business model. Don’t declare a crusade against “Big Con” and big tech and then whine and complain when another company won’t unconditionally support your crusade. Instead, stand on your own two feet and prove your business model and prove you’re more effective than those you’re attacking. Stop being a drama queen.
Lauren Chen did a livestream today- she's been contracted w/ CRTV/Blaze, got offers from DW & Crowder. She said she's never seen or heard of those terms anywhere.
It's not standard, it doesn't even seem to be standard at Daily Wire. And Crowder was their "friend"
Bill Whittle actually worked with Crowder back at PJTV, and has done independent work with both Daily Wire and Crowder. He disagrees.
So does Viva Frei who is a lawyer with a small amount of experience in this space.
So does Jack Psobiac and Mike Cernovich.
So does Tim Pool.
So Candice Owens for what that’s worth.
Heck, Crowder himself believes it’s the standard because that’s the entire point behind “Stop Big Con”.
It’s besides the point anyways. It wasn’t a contract, it was a terms sheet. If you can’t arrive at a contract that both agree with, you don’t sign it. That’s all there is to it. What you DON’T do is air your dirty laundry.
Crowder’s little recording backfired, and rightly so. It was an underhanded thing to do.
