True you can't ever assume good faith with politicians or progressives. Everything is an attempt to get their foot in the door, a step towards further conditioning and more concessions in a few years. But I'm not sure what the solution is otherwise. Maybe this IS an attempt by the governor to move the Overton window. The temp worker program was facing political opposition, and now compared to this crazy idea it sounds reasonable.
