That's exactly why they probably removed it. Any negative comment about a power mod or red-name is enough, not only to warrant a permanent ban to the user, but a forum ban. IIRC, that's actually what nearly got WatchRedditDie killed at least once. I had to do the same shit on KIA2 because when you piss off the janny trannies, they start looking to start shit. And their little brigands of freaks and queers absolutely actively patrol wherever they aren't wanted so they can attack you.
Someone made a joke about a PowerMod. That mod then permanently banned that user from Reddit, and then closed the entire subreddit because of a joke. And to be clear, it wasn't even one of those "Dumb tranny furries run the site" kind of joke. I think they called him ugly.
BUT, because it was a tranny (like nearly fucking all of them), that was considered "harassment" and "attacks on an identity group" which then justified not only that user's ban, but a ban of the subreddit because they didn't remove it fast enough. I think he complained on WRD, and then the PowerMod tried to shut WRD down at that time. I think after a lot of threats, they were forced to remove the post, or ban the head mod or something like that.
Fundamentally, the jannysaries on Reddit are hypersensitive and fucking insane. If given the opportunity, they would literally kill everyone here and all our friends and family. We are not human to them. On top of that, they have fully ideologically possessed themselves, and collectivized themselves.
