Honestly this. The guy was a nobody and then suddenly every single left wing media outlet was discussing him, claiming he was a prominent right winger and watnot. Frankly my guess is they are trying to make it seem like the entire right wing is like this guy, because they believe this guy is easy to take down and embarrass. Effectively strawmanning him into a position of influence he both has not earned, nor actually has
